Noted.

How can I adjust the recording quality in Noted?

Published on Last updated

Short answer

Choose Low, Standard or High under Settings → Recording. High keeps the most detail, Low uses about a quarter of the space; Standard suits most lectures and meetings.

Noted gives you full control over your recording quality and file size, allowing you to optimize storage on your device without sacrificing clarity.

Our recording system is carefully calibrated to deliver consistent audio quality, whether you’re in a quiet office, a classroom, or a bustling coffee shop.

You can choose from three recording quality settings based on your needs:

  • Best – 48,000 Hz (highest quality)
  • Good – 44,100 Hz (default)
  • Space Saver – 16,000 Hz (smaller file size)

By default, Noted is set to Good quality, but you can easily switch to the setting that best suits your situation. Here’s how to adjust it:

iOS

Settings > General > Recording quality

macOS

Settings > Record > Recording quality

Please note that the changes you make to the recording quality will only apply to new recordings.
