Using Your Notes
10 articles
- How does the Calendar Reminder feature work? Give Noted access to your Apple calendar in Settings, then add a reminder to a note. Noted sends a notification before the lesson, deadline or meeting so you revise the right note at the right time.
- How do I delete, archive or restore notes and notebooks? Swipe left on a note (iOS) or right-click it (macOS) and choose Delete or Archive. Archived notes can be restored from the Archive; deleted notes and notebooks are gone for good.
- How do I use the iOS 18 Shortcuts for Noted? Open Control Centre, tap Edit Controls, search for Noted and add Start Recording, New Note or Replay Last Recording. Each control then works from the Lock Screen and Control Centre without opening the app.
- How to use Ask AI? Open a note, tap Ask AI and type a question in plain language. Noted finds the answer in your recordings and notes and jumps to that moment in the audio; no transcript, tags or keywords are needed first.
- How do I lock and unlock a note with a password? No. Your data is encrypted and stored securely on your Apple device and Apple’s iCloud server (if sync is enabled). We cannot access your notes.
- How do I organise my notes and notebooks? Keep notes in notebooks, move them by dragging (macOS) or with ⋯ → Move (iOS), pin the ones you use most, and use #TimeTags and search to find anything later. Notebooks can also be archived.
- How do I search for a #TimeTag, note or notebook? Use the search bar at the top of the notebooks view to find notes and notebooks by name, or tap the # button to filter by #TimeTag. Results open at the matching note.
- How do I share a note or recording? Tap ⋯ → Export (iOS) or the Export button (macOS) and choose PDF, plain text or a web link. A PDF keeps your formatting; the link lets someone read the note in a browser without the app.
- How do I use Split View to work on two notes at once? On iPad, touch and hold a note and drag it to the edge of the screen to open it beside the one you are in. You can type in one note while the other plays, and both stay editable.
- How do I add and customise Noted widgets? Touch and hold the Home Screen (iOS) or open Notification Centre (macOS), tap Edit or +, find Noted and add a widget. Widgets open favourite notes or start a recording with one tap.
