- How do I use dictation to turn speech into notes? Tap the microphone on the editor toolbar and speak; Noted types what you say and, if you are recording, time-stamps every word to the audio. Dictation works in any language your device's keyboard supports.
- What keyboard shortcuts does Noted support? Yes, on Mac and on iPad with an external keyboard: ⌘R to record, ⌘B/⌘I/⌘U for formatting, ⌘F to search, ⌘⇧T for a #TimeTag and the space bar for play and pause. Hold ⌘ on the iPad to see the full list.
- How do I share a note or recording? Tap ⋯ → Export (iOS) or the Export button (macOS) and choose PDF, plain text or a web link. A PDF keeps your formatting; the link lets someone read the note in a browser without the app.
- How do I skip forward or back in a recording? Tap the skip buttons either side of Play to jump back or forward, 10 seconds by default. Change the interval under Settings → General → Skip forward / Skip back, on iOS and macOS.
- How do I use Split View to work on two notes at once? On iPad, touch and hold a note and drag it to the edge of the screen to open it beside the one you are in. You can type in one note while the other plays, and both stay editable.
